What's new in Homeschoolerly 2.0.0

We spent the last several months rewriting the core of Homeschoolerly to make it faster, more reliable, and easier to use. We are excited to announce our major 2.0.0 release. Here are some of the new features.

Kanban board

Stay on top of daily and weekly tasks with ease. View all assignments for each student in one place and effortlessly track progress. Simply drag and drop assignments between columns to update their status in real time.

Class Planner

Quickly add assignments for a class. Save changes when you are ready. On larger screens, you can see a calendar where green days are class days. Click on a green calendar day to auto focus on the assignment name field to add or modify the assignment. Click on any field will update the calendar to the right.

More ways to view your school year and color coded classes make it easy to see what's going on.

Easily toggle between day, week, month, and schedule views to explore your school year from various perspectives. We remember your last view and date selection, so you can pick up right where you left off.

Improved Dashboards

A mini calendar now appears on your dashbord for the current month with today preselected. You can view the day's agenda along with grades and statuses for assignments for each student.

We added a new "Recent status changes" sectino that shows the most recently updated assignments.

Dark mode

Switch between light and dark modes from the sidebar or settings.

Instant access to what you use most

In the top right corner, you will find five new buttons for quick access to the most used features. Click to open the panel and click it again to close.

Item details panel

Clicking on any item in the app will open up item details. Here you can add grades, mark an assignment as complete, or modify any details without losing your place. In settings, you can configure it to always open up the grades tab by default.

Bulk move panel

Quickly rearrange anything within your school year in just seconds! Select a date range to isolate your selection and choose how to move items. Assignments adjust based on your class schedule, while events shift by exact days. A preview ensures you see all changes before confirming.

No need to worry — items can't be moved outside your school year! If something is out of bounds, you'll get a clear notification, allowing you to adjust your selection accordingly.

Multiselect panel

Enable multiselect mode by clicking the multiselect button, allowing you to select multiple items at once. This makes it easy to move or delete multiple items in one action.

Search panel

Quickly find any item in your school year using the search panel, which displays all matching results. Click on an item to open its details panel for more information.
